Muslim Ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire

The new ambassador of the Republic of Côte d'Ivoire to Germany, as the country's first Muslim ambassador to Germany, met with the President of the Islamic Council of Côte d'Ivoire.

Hawzah News Agency- Diabaté Azize Abdallah, the first Muslim ambassador of Côte d'Ivoire, who was recently appointed to serve in Germany, met yesterday with Sheikh Ousmane Diakite, the President of the Islamic Council of Côte d'Ivoire, at his office in Abidjan, the country's capital.

During the meeting, the President of the Islamic Council of Côte d'Ivoire expressed his satisfaction with the visit and considered Mr. Aziz Abdallah's appointment to this position a source of pride and honor for the Muslim community of Côte d'Ivoire; he also offered prayers for his success and well-being.

It is worth noting that, as per the latest statistics, 40 to 45 percent of Côte d'Ivoire's 30 million population are Muslims, primarily following the Tijani and Maliki schools of thought; the Christian community constitutes about 30 percent of the population, and the rest are mostly animists, atheists, or non-religious.
